Parknudge privacy policy

The short version

We do not receive your data.

Danielson Ulvstranden AB operates no server for Parknudge. We cannot see when or where you park, because that information never reaches us. Everything the app records stays in the app's private storage on your device, and uninstalling the app deletes it.

There is exactly one moment when the app talks to the internet at all, described below: loading map images when you open the map. It sends nothing to us, and your location is never transmitted anywhere.

On your device

What Parknudge stores.

All of this lives in the app's private storage on your phone:

• Parking events — the time parking was detected, which of your selected Bluetooth devices triggered it, and the answer you gave (paid, parked for free, or not parked).
• Your selected Bluetooth devices — the name and Bluetooth address of the devices you chose as "this means I am driving".
• Your places — for each quiet place you create: its coordinates, radius, the name you gave it, and the hours you set.
• Your settings — reminder delay, minimum drive length, appearance, and whether motion detection is on.

Parknudge does not create a user account, does not ask for your name or email, and does not use an advertising identifier.

Location

Used at the moment you park, and only to check your own places.

Location is optional. It is only requested if you use quiet places — the feature that stops Parknudge reminding you somewhere you know parking is free.

• Parknudge takes a single location reading at the moment parking is detected. It does not track you, does not follow your movements, and does not keep a history of where you have been.
• That reading is compared, on your phone, against the places you created. If you are inside one, the reminder is suppressed. The reading is not stored as a location history.
• Android requires the "Allow all the time" location setting for this, because parking is detected while Parknudge is closed. Without it, everything else in the app still works — only quiet places stop working.

Leaving your device

The one time data goes anywhere.

This sends nothing to Danielson Ulvstranden AB. We list it because it is a genuine network request, and you should know it exists.

Map tiles

When you open the map to create or view a place, the map images are downloaded from OpenFreeMap, which uses OpenStreetMap data. As with any request to any website, their servers receive your device's IP address and the map area being requested. This happens only while the map is open. Their handling of that request is governed by their own terms.

Backup

Android may back the app up to your own Google account.

Parknudge participates in Android's standard backup, so that changing phone does not lose your cars, your places and the opening hours you transcribed. That backup goes to your Google account, not to us, and is controlled by your device's backup settings. You can turn it off in Android settings. We have no access to it.

Permissions

Why Parknudge asks for what it asks for.

• Notifications — the reminder is the entire product.
• Nearby devices / Bluetooth — to list your paired devices so you can choose which one means "driving", and to notice when it disconnects.
• Location, including "Allow all the time" — only for quiet places, as described above. Optional.
• Physical activity — only if you turn on motion detection, which is off by default.
• Alarms and reminders — so the reminder arrives at the minute you chose. Optional; without it reminders still arrive, a few minutes later.
• Run at startup — to restore your pending reminders after the phone restarts.
• Internet — for the two cases described above.

Your data

Deletion, and your rights.

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete, export or correct on your behalf. Uninstalling Parknudge removes everything it stored on your device. You can also delete individual places and clear history inside the app.

Under the GDPR, Danielson Ulvstranden AB is the data controller for Parknudge. In practice, the app processes your data only on your own device and transmits none of it to us. If you believe otherwise, or have any question about this policy, contact us and we will answer.

Parknudge is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
